documentary name: Hatil, a Bangladeshi village
To visualize the socio-economic condition of rural Bangladesh we have visited a village named, “Hatil” which is situated ten km far from Muktagacha of Mymensing district. It is an agro based like other village of Bangladesh. The villagers are directly or indirectly involved in agriculture but the majority are landless and marginalized. In the high market price the farmer suffering is increasing day by day. Though world is growing faster in the age of globalization, but the rural development Bangladesh are very slow. There is no hospital and high school. Even though the “Pollii Biddut” provides electric connectivity, but Hatil severely effect by load shading. The village Hatil is adjacent to Madhupur forest. The natural forest is here prominent. But due to the lack of environmental consciousness, the forest is now going to be perished. Most of the villagers don’t know the result of environmental imbalances occurred from forest destruction. Here the NGO activities are active as like as other villages. However the micro credit programs is prominent than other development activities. Though the micro entrepreneurs are benefited by the micro credit programs, but have many objections particularly to highest rate of interest. However the villages are open and public minded to city. The rural hookers is a traditional rural business man who sale the project by their solder-caring shop. There are many questions on the activities of local government and its elected activities. However they are making bridge between the government and people. Although they can not work with the public demand but the local public representative has vision for social development. They consider as local guardian of the village. As the effect of modernization the rural culture is now abruptly changing. The Boiati (rural singers) are inheriting the local cultural traditions.
